This site is my final prject for my CSCI 114 class. With the developement of this site, I wanted it to be simple, yet sophisticated. I choose a very basic layout so the pages aren't to cluttered and the layout is easy to follow,and find what you are looking for. The requirements for completing this project include knowing how to:
Although these are just a few skills, there are many more that went into making this website. Learning and developing these new skills have allowed me to design my own web pages, pictures, calendars, and much more. After taking this class, I feel confident to the point where if someone gave me their demands on a webpage they want me to design, I would be able to complete the task's neccessary in order to make the site run and function correctly.
The main thing I was going for when designing this Sawdust Festival poster was to not be overpowering on the eyes. It has a very smooth gradient transition that is subtle to look at, but also really pops out at you to get your attention. For the actual Sawdust Festival logo, I chose a colorful background so no matter how old or young you are it catches your eye. For the event information I picked a simple font and made the text black, not tie dye, in order to make the important part stick out. Then, for the activities/about the festival section, I went with a darker orange so the onlooker isn't cluttered with a lot of text that is small and hard to read. If they choose to read that part thats fine, but it is not the main point of the poster.
For the design of this calendar i really just went fo your everyday calendar. Something that wasn't too much but at the same time gives you room to write everything you need to, with plenty of space left over. Also at the bottom of each page, there is a coupon for certain discounts at your local pet store!
This last design was to creat a logo for a local construction firm. It is an easy design in the sense that as soon as you look at if you know exactly what it is for, a construction company. The use of the T-square and the triangle really make that obvious, but thats what we were going for! I used this design in making a latterhead, buisness card, and an envelope for the company.
